Moments of Healing

Healing does not always arrive in big ways. Sometimes it comes through a familiar song, a quiet prayer, an unexpected sign, a meaningful conversation, or a memory that makes us smile. These are small moments shared by women who found a little comfort when they needed it most.

The Little Beagle Who Found Us

The spring after my mom passed away, new neighbors moved into the house next door. One day, my daughter looked out the window and noticed the most adorable little face peeking through our fence.

It belonged to a sweet beagle named Shai.

We walked over to meet her and were immediately drawn to her loving and gentle nature. There was something so tender about her. We could not have known then how much this little beagle would come to mean to our family or that our home would soon become her second home.

As we formed a friendship with our neighbors and they grew to trust us, we began caring for Shai when they traveled, sometimes for long weekends and sometimes for extended periods. That was when we discovered how much she loved taking walks, curling up beside us for cuddles, and stretching out for belly rubs. Each time she came through our door, she brought warmth, affection, and a quiet kind of comfort. She became part of our routines, our memories, and our family.

Even after our neighbors moved away, Shai remained part of our lives. The bond we formed with her was too special to leave behind.

She arrived during a season when our hearts were carrying so much grief. Without even knowing it, Shai gave us moments of tenderness when we needed them most. Her presence reminded us that healing does not always come in ways we expect. Sometimes it appears as the sweetest little face waiting for us on the other side of a fence.
